North/South Dirt Oval Classic: Rules

Get ready to compete by understanding the specific class rules for our RC dirt oval race. Ensure your vehicle meets all requirements to race with the best.

General Rules

  1. By paying your entry fee you agree to compete with your cars conforming to all rules stated in our rule book.
  2. All calls made by the race director or tech man are final.
  3. Any car may be impounded at any time during the event to ensure legality.
  4. Battery voltage for all classes is 8.44 max, you will not be allowed to race if you are over the limit, if over you will receive one chance to either discharge or run you battery down to be rechecked and must be below the maximum to race.
  5. Any disqualification in post race tech will result in a loss of points for the day or if made post qualifying before the mains you will lose your qualifying time and be demoted to last in the lowest main.
  6. All locked timing classes may be tested on a motor analyser to ensure the timing is within the specified regulations. Every motor analyser will show different numbers so just because it is right on your meter does not make it correct on ours.
  7. There will be a 1 min timer between races, your car needs to be checked in and ready to race. In the instance a car has an issue in the warm ups before a race, a 1 minute grace period will be granted. It is your responsibility to make sure your car is through tech before the end of the race prior to yours.
  8. All drivers will be required to turn marshal the race after theirs, if you are unable to marshal! due to a medical condition or running consecutive classes we ask that you find a replacement to take your spot if there are not over 4 drivers in the previous race.
  9. Do not go back to your pit after your race is over, go to the designated turn based on your finishing position of the last race. If you finish outside the top 4 you may be asked to fill in for a driver unable to marshal. There will be bins in each corner to place your car and radio while you marshal!.
  10. Marshalls need to be in place before the 1 min timer for the next race ends. Failure to marshal will result in the docking of a lap of your previous race.
  11. Do not verbally abuse turn marshalls, it is not their fault you were wrecked. They may retrieve your car only when they can safely where it would not impact those that are actively racing.
  12. Absolutely no physical altercations of any kind, you will be asked to leave.
  13. Do not confront anyone in their pits during an event.
  14. No on track retaliations of any kind, you will be asked to remove your car for that round of racing and may be parked for that class for the rest of the day.
  15. Please respect other drivers on the track with you, if a lead car approaches you may be asked to move to let the leader through.
  16. We will use rocket round format meaning your fastest qualifier will position you for the main, everyone qualifies on their own clock.
  17. Race starts for the mains will take place on the back straight in a predetermined box marked on the track in white paint. The leader sets the pace and starts the race, the horn will sound after the lead car fires off. The entire field must make it to the finish for a clean start, after all cars have crossed the finish line the race will not be restarted.
  18. There will be a resort after each round of qualifying.
  19. It is your responsibility to ensure your transponder is functioning properly, we may add up to one missed lap for a driver if they can prove that they had missed a lap without incident.

Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification. For any questions or clarifications, please contact the race organizers.
